Since joining the staff at St.Mary's Music School he has been active as a recitalist, accompanying both string players and wind players in concert and masterclasses as well as teaching piano and chamber music.  He has worked with Mr McFall's Chamber, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Edinburgh Festival Chorus, and acted as repetiteur for Gennadi Rozhdestvensky (2008), Phillipe Herreweghe (2009), Donald Runnicles (2011 & 2013) and Sir Roger Norrington at the Edinburgh International Festival. He has recently played Schubert D959, Beethoven's 'Hammerklavier' Sonata in St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh and he gave the first performance of Tom D.Wilson's 'Three Sets of Piano Miniatures' in September 2012.  John recently took part in the Edinburgh International Festival's 'Love in a Library/Bookshop/Flowerbed' series of concerts and has recently taken over as Head of Keyboard at St.Mary's Music School.
